Your Erroneous Zones
Wayne W. Dyer
Definitely, one of my favorite self-help books that challenge the reader to enter introspection to overcome self-destructive beliefs and behaviors that might be holding us back from living fulfilling lives. I often come back to this one when I need a reminder of the misconceptions and thought patterns that can lead to unhappiness and dissatisfaction. Through practical advice and exercises, the book encourages the reader to take control of their thoughts, beliefs, and actions to break free from limiting patterns and achieve personal growth fulfillment. I am all in for a book that encourages the reader to analyze and formulate their own critique. 10/10 in empowerment and funny anecdotes that make the challenge of introspection gaiety.
The Solutionist
Solitaire Townsend
This one was recommended by a friend, who like me is a solutionist (noun – a solver of problems). It is a motivational book that inspires individuals and organizations to become active agents of change in the face of global challenges. Through compelling stories of entrepreneurs, CEOs, economists, researchers, etc., Townsend empowers readers to adopt a solution-oriented mindset and take meaningful action to address pressing issues such as climate change, social inequality, and sustainability. It’s unlocked my creative potential and drive to create a ripple effect of positive change in communities and the world at large. The best part is the roadmaps the author creates for a framework of unity, innovation, collaboration, and commitment.
Hector and the Search for Happiness
François Lelord
Found this book in a Little Free Library while roaming around Brooklyn, New York. I love how the author outlines in his journey the things that bring fulfillment to humanity and how it’s an individual journey for all but we must be willing to create happiness. There is a simplicity and lightheartedness to the author’s style counting lessons along the way. I’m also a sucker for a romantic ending after a love you believed was doomed to fail.
The Artist’s Way
Julia Cameron
This book was recommended by my sister, the best sister in the world! So you know this book has to be good. Plus look at the reviews! I just started this one as a way to keep my juices flowing as I continue my writing and creative pursuits. This transformative self-help book is designed to help readers unleash their creativity and overcome creative blocks. Through a 12-week program, Cameron guides readers on a journey of self-discovery and personal growth, encouraging them to reconnect with their inner artist and cultivate a sense of creative fulfillment in their lives. More on this later.
The Green Witch
Arin Murphy-Hiscock
I refer to this book as a dictionary for nature’s plant magic. I love finding the unnoticed aspects of all the living things around us and find myself exploring nature out in the wild and am curious about the meaning of the things I find. This book offers a distinct look at the growing spheres in nature that we may overlook, offering the author’s unique perspective and giving the reader a chance to find the essence of it on their own accord. It enriches my relationship with nature and the natural earth as a source of knowledge and inspiration for exploring the wonders of the world and finding meaning in all living things.
